Most importantly, send us your questions and comments for what you’d like to see in your WWS membership. We’ll answer your member questions at this stellar event and give a presentation on what we’ve got planned for our members in 2012. We want YOU to get the most out of your membership!
Of course, our evening couldn’t be complete without a big round of applause for our hosts at Gloria Ferrer! Not only have they generously donated their beautiful facilities for this extravaganza, but they are also big supporters of women in and around the wine industry. (After all, the winery is named in honor of a leading lady in this esteemed industry!)
We’ll be tasting several Gloria Ferrer wines at this event as well as learning a bit about their winemaking philosophy and production. Two of their wines we’ll be tasting have fascinating backgrounds. The award-winning 2004 Royal Cuvée is a Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend that hails from their 335-acre estate. This wine was first created for King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia of Spain and served to them during their visit to California in 1987.
In celebration of their 45th wedding anniversary and to honor her husband for naming the winery after her, Gloria Ferrer created the 95 pt. 2006 José S. Ferrer Pinot Noir [W.E. Dec. 2011]. This wine uses the most exceptional blocks from their estate vineyard and are selected from each vintage for this bottling.
We welcome both WWS members and non-members to this unique event. (In fact, Members, you may win a special prize for bringing the most non-members to this event! We’ve even set some special pricing for your friends: Non-members one-time only same-as-member’s-price - $15. Everyone’s tickets are the same price!)
