Guest Speaker:

Laura Reed is the Women For Wine Sense Rochester Chapter's 2022 Scholarship winner. She focused on food and wine pairing for her wine education experience during 2023-24 and is excited to present what she learned at the June WWS meeting. Although 2022 was her first year as a member, she has long enjoyed attending WWS various events with her mother, Lucia Shean, and often helped her pour wine for Dr. Frank's at events throughout Rochester and the Finger Lakes. Outside of the wine world, Laura is a school librarian in Rush-Henrietta, where her dog Nina also serves as a beloved therapy dog. In her free time, she's an avid gardener, baker, and writer. Her first Young Adult fiction novel, Open at Rock Bottom, published in February of 2023, and she still gets a thrill every time someone sends her a picture of it on a bookstore or library shelf. You can also catch Laura on stage this summer as Lady Utterword in Rochester Classics Theatre's production of Shaw's Heartbreak House.

It's Bottle Pull time! The Women For WineSense mission established in 1994 remains our mission today: to provide educational and relationship building opportunities for wine industry professionals and wine enthusiasts.

The Rochester Chapter established both Scholarship and Educational Grant programs to support this mission at the local chapter level.

At our June 2024 event we will be conducting a bottle pull that helps fund our educational grants, scholarship or community outreach. For a small donation, you will have an opportunity to pull a bottle at this event, so be sure to bring cash or your checkbook to join in the fun!
